Itinerary
The history of Naples is perfectly legible in its urban structure, which maintains the signs of a city built slowly over 25 centuries: this is the reason why the town is amongst the World Cultural Heritage Sites listed by UNESCO.
Once in the Old Naples, there are plenty of things to visit or to do according to your interests and feelings. You shall certainly enter some of its beautiful but sometimes hidden churches – more that you can imagine in Naples as well as in Rome!
You will find great examples of gothic and baroque architecture mixed up with the houses of ordinary people.
Your private Naples Excursion will bring you to the area so-called ‘Spaccanapoli’. You will discover the real town: its people, the students, the food (the best pizzerias and pastry shops are there), the craftsmanship. Not to miss is the area of San Gregorio where you have an incredible display of items produced to decorate the Nativity during Christmas Time.
If you like, you can also reach the Cathedral to marvel at the richness of its baroque decoration. In the Cathedral, you can visit San Gennaro Chapel, worldwide known not only for art but also because there the Patron Saint of the City liquefies its blood twice a year!!
If you would like to visit the Sansevero Chapel please let us know ahead of time to obtain a reservation (closed on Tuesdays).
At the end of the tour, you can decide to stay on own in town for a traditional pizza lunch or you can go back to the starting point.
Tour Reviews
We were amazed at how knowledgeable and interesting Fabrizio was as we toured Naples by foot and then drove to Pompei for a private tour of the ruins. We have had many tour guides in the past that just talk endlessly about facts and figures that go in one ear and out the other – but Fabrizio made the history interesting and fun. He caught on very quickly at times that we wouldn’t that interested in certain activities/museums so he took us to places more of interest to our group of 6. Wish I could give this company a 10+.
Giuseppe met us at our cruise ship and took us on a fantastic walking tour of Napoli. Since we had been to Napoli before, he showed us some hidden gems we had not yet discovered such as the veiled Christ sculpture in San Severo, the eye-opening Fontanella Cimitero, etc. We also had a wonderful lunch along the Lungo Mare with beautiful views and delicious local food. We travel often and I highly recommend Giuseppe. He is knowledgeable, engaging, and a delight!!
