On the 3rd October 2018, in occasion of the ninetieth anniversary of his birth, within the spaces of the Complesso del Vittoriano (Ala Brasini) has been inaugurated an unmissable exhibition dedicated to the myth of Andy Warhol. An exhibit that recalls the career of this unique artist starting from the origins of Pop Art itself: in 1962 the genius of Pittsburgh begins indeed to use screen printing to create the Campbell’s Soup series, canned soups that Warhol used to take from the shelves of a supermarkets before delivering them to the Olympus of contemporary art. After The exhibition path, with more than 170 artworks, aim to celebrate the incredible life of a artist who has changed forever the connotations not only of the art world but also of music, cinema and fashion, by tracing a new and original path that radically changed any previous aesthetic definition. POLLOCK AND THE SCHOOL OF NEW YORK – 10/10/2018 – 24/02/2019

From the 10th of October 2018, the Ala Brasini of Complesso del Vittoriano houses one of the most precious selections of the collection of the Whitney Museum in New York: Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline and many other representatives of the School of New York. Anti-conformism, psychological introspection and experimentation are the three guidelines of this great exhibition. Through about 50 masterpieces – including the famous Number 27, Pollock’s large canvas, over 3m long, made iconic by the masterly balance between the brush strokes of black and the fusion of lighter colours – visitors will immerge themselves in the magnificent artistic context of the abstract expressionism. LA STANZA DI MANTEGNA. MASTERPIECES FROM THE JACQUEMART-ANDRÉ MUSEUM OF PARIS – 27/09/2018 – 27/01/2019

From the 27th September 2018 to the 27th January 2019, the Palazzo Barberini houses the exhibition La stanza di Mantegna: Masterpieces from the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris. The exhibition focuses on a small number of works of remarkable quality and of great importance both from the point of view of the history of art and that of the history of collecting, including two masterpieces by Andrea Mantegna. In Rome there are no original artworks by Mantegna, so the exhibit is a unique opportunity to admire some works of this extraordinary artist. Six the masterpieces on display including the Ecce Homo and the Bambino tra i santi Gerolamo e Ludovico di Tolosa of Mantegna himself, collected by Edouard André (Paris 1833-1894) and his wife Nélie Jacquemart (Paris 1841-1912), who left their prestigious collection to the French State. JE SUIS L’AUTRE. GIACOMETTI, PICASSO AND THE OTHERS. PRIMITIVISM IN TWENTIETH-CENTURY SCULPTURE – 28/09/2018 – 20/01/2019
